?Question?

Are your children any better off for the Christmas gifts they have received?

Are they more content?

Happier?

Less in want?

More at peace with themselves and their siblings?

Are they better people?

For that matter, are YOU?

  1. No, nope, uh-uh, not at all, heck no, not a chance, I only wish I was for if I was perhaps then they would be...the sad part is everything in my life right now is a product of my own attitude and reaction. I am not setting a good example for the little ones, I fear. Not good at all...

  2. Is it wrong that our kids gifts came from the overflow from their birthdays? True story!

  3. i had a very low key christmas, personally, so i can not speak for it...i was well into christmas day before i thought "shoot, i did not get to open any gifts!"

i do think it would be VERY difficult to have children, and not buy them the latest whatever. however, i wish more parents had the courage to do so. at the very least, i hope they also have the courage to take them out to buy something for a homeless kid, or to sit with them and help them to make something for their brother/sister in addition to fighting with them over the wii.

    does that make sense?

  4. Yes, Bob. I'm still struggling with this, on the 5th of the new year. I'm asking God to show us how to (even at this late date) raise children who are more focused on God's kingdom than on their own. I do realize that it can only happen in them if it happens in US first.

    Becca--I think that's AWESOME.
